Jesica Avellone is an actor and teaching artist in Seattle, where she has performed with Book-It Repertory Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Company/Wooden O, Seattle Public Theater, and will soon make her Washington Ensemble Theatre debut in Every Five Minutes. She came to Seattle from New York, where she co-founded CollaborationTown and appeared Off-Broadway in Pentecost with the Barrow Group. She plays the violin, and was nominated for an Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Original Music. She is a founder of the new arts education initiative Grow Through the Arts and received her BFA from Boston University. Home is where Colin and the girls are.
Shawna Avinger - Music Director
Shawna is a Seattle-based singer, actor, and musical director. Operatic roles include the title role in Ariadne auf Naxos, Countess in Marriage of Figaro, Nedda in I Pagliacci, Antonia in Tales of Hoffmann, Atalanta in Xerxes, Vitellia in La Clemenza di Tito, and Michaela in Carmen. She also appeared in the premieres of Clara, Reunion, Wild Ride, A Night at the Opera, Clarion Call, and The One, as well as the film versions of Hand of Bridge and Bachianas Brasilieras. She has performed with the Fisher Ensemble, debuting roles in Magda (Seattle) At the Hawk’s Well (New York, Boston) and Kocho (Seattle, New York). She recently appeared as Tiresias in the Partch opera Oedipus at UW and in recital at Café Racer. Shawna received her Bachelor’s of Music from University of Washington and her Master’s Degree in Opera Performance from the University of Maryland Opera Studio. Since 2002, she has been working with vocal students and is the artistic director of Viva Vocalists, a musical theater and opera performance program. Upcoming: Lecture recital for The Wayward Music Series, directing Two Saints Caught in the Act and Riders to the Sea.
Sarah Kelly Beeson - Acting Company Member, Production Associate, Fight Director
Sarah Kelly Beeson is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has degrees in Musical Theater and Theater Design from the University of Tulsa. Some of her favorite roles include: The Witch in Into the Woods, Laertes in Hamlet, Tecumapese in Tecumseh!, and Annette in God of Carnage. She has a passion for storytelling through violence. Sarah is a Member in good standing with the SAFD having completed training with all eight weapons, and works as a fight choreographer. She is proud to be a Teaching Assistant with Viva Vocalist. She is also an avid Gamer, baker of delicious goodies, and Disney Nerd!
Angelica Duncan-Basile - Acting Company Member
Angelica Duncan is a local actor, teaching artist and director of youth theatre. Most recently she portrayed the role of Lavinia in Titus Andronicus at the Seattle Shakespeare Company, had fun in the parks as Julia in The Two Gentlemen of Verona with Wooden O, and has visited many schools in Washington State with four of Book-It Repertory Theatre’s Bilingual Outreach Education Tours. Other favorite roles include The Cat, in Seussical the Musical, Anne Shirley, in Anne of Green Gables, Strawberry, in Freckleface Strawberry, and Elizabeth Bennett, in Pride and Prejudice. When she is not on stage she is busy sharing her passion for theatre art as a teaching artist and director.
Roger Estrada - Acting Company Member
Born and bred in the arid landscape of west Texas, Roger has been working on his craft since his first role 16 years ago as a rock and roll reindeer. His love of Shakespeare and the stage have come together many times over his career and have now brought him to Seattle along with the recently transplanted Fern Theatre. His dream is to be a part of a Theatre ensemble where there is no other option, but to breathe, eat, bleed, and die on and for the stage. Favorite roles Chris Keller (All My Sons); Dr. Faustus (Faustus); Jack Gable (Leading Ladies).
Lisa Harrington - Company Stage Manager
Lisa Harrington graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 2013 with a degree in theatre technology and design. Previous Fern credits include Hamlet, The Tempest,Macbeth and The Complete Works of Shakespeare: Abridged.
David S. Klein - Acting Company Member
David has been a working theater artist for 47 years. He has performed in over 150 professional productions as well as directed and taught acting. Prior to moving to Seattle in 1985, he ran a touring children’s theater in rural New England for three years and performed at international avant-garde festivals in Baltimore and in Wroclaw, Poland. He has helped start five theaters, both here and in Boston, including Book-It, and is now a member of Theater 9/12, Tales of the Alchemysts Theater and Playworks. He has performed numerous Shakespearean roles with the Seattle Shakespeare Company, GhostLight Theatricals, Seattle Rep and the Recycled Shakespeare Company.
Annie St. John - Acting Company Member
Annie St. John is Los Angeles native who relocated to the beautiful Seattle area in 2010. A few select previous roles include: Jaques in As You Like It with Ghostlight Theatricals,
Viola in Twelfth Night at the Morgan Wixon Theatre and Belinda in Noises Off at Driftwood Players in Edmonds. She has a BA in Theatre from Vanderbilt University and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts with their Voice And Speech Award in 2000. She is so excited to join Doug and Jessica in this new adventure!
Daniel Wood - Acting Company Member, Marketing Team
Daniel Wood is a veteran professional actor and director of Seattle’s theater. He has worked with many of Seattle’s best theater companies including Seattle Shakespeare Company, Book-It Repertory, Seattle Public Theater, Sound Theatre Company, GreenStage Shakespeare in the Park, Theater Schmeater, Annex Theatre, Balagan Theatre, Centerstage, Seattle Opera and many more. In addition, he is also the Artistic Director of his own theater company The Rogues Gallery, a theater company dedicated to producing plays with geek themes.
